Frank Vein

I started my career as a Corporate and Investment Banker in 1990 at Barclays Bank in London, UK, having moved to the UK at a young age in 1979. During my time with Barclays, I worked on a variety of Medium and large UK and Far East companies before returning to South Africa in 1996.

In South Africa I worked in senior banking positions for ABN AMRO, where I was part of the team that started the corporate bank, Absa Corporate Finance, Credit Agricole and JP Morgan where, as an Executive Director, where I had responsibility for the Bank’s South African corporate clients.

My last position in banking was with Absa Bank where I was Regional Head for the bank’s Business Bank (SMME’s) outside South Africa, with direct responsibility for the Business Bank businesses in Kenya, Mozambique, Mauritius, Seychelles and Tanzania.

I, therefore, have a wealth of experience dealing and advising companies, small and large, from a range of different industries.  My particular passion for SMMEs is derived from the fact that they are the drivers of employment and social upliftment in society and I have much admiration for Entrepreneurs/Business owners who have embarked on a journey to starting, building and taking to the next level their precious businesses.  Through Business Doctors, and using my wealth of experience gained over the years, I look forward to assisting those businesses in their growth ambitions.
